Invasion
Roundstock, steel sheets, cast aluminum, found object (glass), spray paint
12” x 5” x 14”

Invasion is the representation of mutagen transformation. As the surrounding elements envelop the sculpture, it begins to feed and encompass the surrounding space it resides in: a symbiotic relationship. The result of parasitic invasion is rooted in the theories of atmospheric radiation in accompaniment with evolution. Not only does the grotesque tongue insinuate the sculpture to be a living creature, but it also personifies the life of vegetation. The relationships within a specific ecosystem can vary between mutualism, commensalism, and parasitism. What does human interference and, in this case, disruption do to our already depleting ecosystems?
