CAUTION emphasizes the polarity of childhood development in history. The stylization of the frame references the unhealthy and restricted era of Victorian children. The metal, intentionally polished and flashy, compliments the visual aesthetics of the time period, highlighting the dichotomy between a family’s perceived image and the childrens’ lack of nourishment. To antithesize the Victorian manner, the internal element is a commentary on the overconsumption of technology in our current society, specifically, the effects it has on the upbringing of children. Unfortunately, children are having a negative developmental impact on the seemingly harmless baby-orientated videos; It is an overstimulator that is detrimental in excessive doses to the brain development of a child. Now that we have come so far from the former, how do we find a medium? What is too much consumption?
